This site allows you to create interactive quizzes and presentations. When you register, you can choose between two options: you can log in either as a teacher or a student. Depending on user type, we are offered a variety of options.
If you log in as a teacher, the system treats you mainly as a task creator and tutor, and therefore offers corresponding options in its user interface.
When you sign up as a learner, however, the system encourages you to learn and practice, offering quizzes or interactive lessons that will match your profile. Students have the chance to practice not only by answering, but the system converts the selected quiz into flashcards on request, so they can remember the correct answers.
It is also very friendly, youthful and playful, having an interface that leaves you with a positive experience- intended to establish and strengthen pupils' interest in learning.
Furthermore, downloading Quizizz as an application for mobile devices is possible, you can therefore use it in class at any time, project the questions and have students mark the correct answer on their phones.
When making a quiz, the following types of questions are available:
- multiple choice (one right answer)
- multiple choice (more right answers)
- short answer
- open question
- voting (no points awarded).
The language the platform uses is English, still, it's very easy to use: a few utilizations will turn you into a quizzer with great routine.
When you want to create a test really quickly, one option is to use the search engine to find and select quizzes that fit your topic. Another option is to upload your quiz in a spreadsheet (Import from spreadsheet option).
The system will help you by providing a sample table that can be used to create quick quizzes.
In addition to quizzes, the site also gives us the opportunity to create an interactive presentation. This is especially useful in distance learning, as it (also) increases student interaction during video lessons.
Click Publish to finish editing and publish the result. You have two options: present your work live or hand it out as homework. For both options, you will receive a code or a link that you can share with your students so that they can access the course material and answer the questions asked.
If you choose to share live, students can follow along with, while we are able to follow -during the lesson- how many of them have answered the questions asked, and which questions need to be completed or deepened.
The system also records the results of home practice, so we get feedback on how many people have read through our uploaded course material and solved the corresponding exercises.
- Friendly interface
- Instant feedback on the correctness of answers
- It has a formula editor, so it can also be used for realistic subjects
- Can be used as a live quiz and for home practice
- In student mode, the quiz can be converted into flashcards
- Integrates with Google Classroom
- Generates visual, downloadable statistics on the answers
Some tools are only available if you pay for it
If you have a school Google Suite for Education account, it is recommended to use it when logging in, because you can link your Quizizz account to your existing Google Classroom, so you can manage the quizzes or interactive learning materials you have assigned in the virtual classroom, and the system will import the scores you have achieved on the tests into the Classroom logbook.
One of the advantages of Quizizz is that it can be used in real time, both in a classroom environment or as homework at home. There is no need to register for students to do the quizzes.
In a classroom environment, owing to the speed of the quiz, it can be used as a playful summary of the lesson, for revision, for quick knowledge checks, or even as a diagnostic assessment (to see what needs to be repeated, where to start off from).
The quiz shows the correct answers in real time, the time it took someone to react, the number of people who gave wrong responses, etc.
A ranking of students can be created after each answer, which can be motivating and encourages competition. In order not to cause a sense failure, only the results of the five students at the top of the leaderboard are shown after each round. After their answers given, students receive individual messages of encouragement from the app. At the completion of the quiz, a summary table appears on the teacher's page. Here you can see how fast everyone was and how many answers they got well.
The results can be saved as Excel spreadsheets to track student progress, and the scores can be easily converted into grades, making Quizizz useful for both formative (developmental, supportive) and summative assessments.
The quizzes can also be distributed for practice at home, encouraging independent learning.
From a teaching point of view, it is useful to be able to copy quizzes created by other users to our own library, where they can be edited to suit our needs, to print the quizzes we have already created (even if you have several variations of the same quiz, the system will automatically mix up the order of the questions), or to save them as a PDF document.
Provided there is a need, you can insert images (even directly from the internet), text elements or other elements. You can also use the interface to create collections and classrooms - where you can track your students' progress.

There is usually a wide range of question types to choose from and the evaluation is much easier than with traditional tests.
Some of the tools below can also be used to collect quick feedback, at a given point of time, even anonymously, so that the teacher can always get an idea of how well the students have understood the material.
